How to reset your Samsung dryer

How to reset your Samsung dryer
Reset your dryer
Resetting your dryer is easy. Unplug it (or turn off power at the circuit breaker), wait some time for the electrical charge to clear out of the dryer (usually 1 to 5 minutes at most), and then power it up again.
That's all it takes to reset.
When to reset (and when not to)
Resetting your dryer will clear out all the error codes in memory. You might think "Great, now my dryer will start working again," but it's a little more complicated.
First of all, some issues are caused by something you'll have to address, and resetting isn't a troubleshooting step for the issue. For instance, if the dryer is not heating well, it could be due to a blocked vent. A reset won't clear your vent and won't troubleshoot this issue at all, but running a vent blockage test might help identify whether it's the cause of the issue or not.
So when should you reset? After performing all the troubleshooting first. Some error codes don't have any troubleshooting, though, and the only thing you can try is a reset. (See our error code guide for a list of which have troubleshooting steps and which don't, or our blinking lights guide for models without a digital display.)
If a reset doesn't work (and you tried all of the troubleshooting steps first) and the code just comes back, you shouldn't try to clear it again. Wiping all the history of error codes from the unit makes it harder for a technician to diagnose and correct the issue. You'll have to request service. You can find a link to requesting service at the end of our troubleshooting guides.

Network reset
If you want to erase all Wi-Fi and network information from the dryer, follow these steps. This is only applicable to dryers with Wi-Fi capability.
- Hold Smart Control until “AP” displays (about 3 seconds).
- Hold Temp until OK displays (about 7 seconds). The display will then go back to “AP”.
- Turn off the dryer.
