What type of burner is not working on your cooktop?

There's a quick test to see if the burners are behaving as expected.

Set all burners to HI.
Use the controls on your range to set all the burners to HI and wait 30 seconds.

After 30 seconds, inspect the burners.
With the burners on, look for the burner to cycle on and off. This is normal operation. The cycling speed will vary in order to maintain the selected temperature.
Important: If all of your burners are not working, see our guide for troubleshooting that issue instead.

Request service.
If a single burner (or part of a Multi-Zone burner) does not get hot, but all the other burners work fine, visit the
Support Center to request service.
An induction element on the cooktop does not work
Note
Induction burners turn off automatically under certain conditions, like if you're not using magnetic cookware, or even if you are but the cookware is empty.
Performing this quick check will confirm that the burner is indeed not working correctly and will need service.

Confirm the cookware is compatible.
Induction cooktops require magnetic cookware, like cast iron, or magnetic stainless steel.
Also make sure that the size of the cookware fits the burner you're using. Refer to your user manual for specifications for your cooktop's burner sizes.

Attempt to boil water.
The induction cooktop will shut off automatically if the cookware is empty. To test the burner, try to boil water.

Request service.
If the water does not get hot, visit our
