Samsung refrigerator shows code OF OF, O FF, or scrolling bars

Cooling Off mode (also know as Demo mode or Shop mode) will disable the cooling systems of the refrigerator, and also disable ice making and the water dispenser. In this mode, the display will show OF OF, O FF, OFF OFF, or scrolling temperature bars, depending on your model.

Make sure your fridge is in Cooling Off mode.

If your display has any of the following, you are in Cooling Off mode:

  • OF OF
  • O FF
  • OFF OFF
  • Temperature bars scrolling back and forth
  • On Family Hub models, in Fridge Manager, all compartments display OFF

Turn off Cooling Off mode.

The steps for disabling Cooling Off mode will vary depending on what type of panel you have.
Service is not required. If you have difficulty leaving Cooling off (Demo) mode, consult your <a href="https://es-us-284fcd07851162dad.getsmartling.com/us/support/downloads/"><b>user manual</b></a> for the specific buttons for your model, and try asking a friend or family member for assistance.
Touch and hold the top two left buttons for 8 seconds, or until the refrigerator chimes.

Touch and hold the top two left buttons and the top right button for 8 seconds, or until the refrigerator chimes.

For models with only four buttons on the panel, touch and hold the two left buttons and the top right button for 8 seconds, or until the refrigerator chimes.

Tap Apps, tap Fridge Manager, and then tap Fridge Settings. Tap Cooling Off, tap Deactivate, and then select Proceed.

Touch and hold Power Freeze and Freezer until the fridge chimes (8 seconds).

If that doesn't work, touch and hold Power Freeze, Freezer, and Fridge until the fridge chimes (about 8 seconds).

If you don't have those buttons, touch and hold Ice Off and Freezer until the fridge chimes (about 8 seconds).

Before you can do anything on the refrigerator panel, you have to unlock it. Touch and hold Control Lock for 3 seconds, or until the refrigerator chimes. Touch and hold Ice Maker, Auto Water Fill, and Door Alarm until the refrigerator chimes (about 8 seconds).

Touch and hold Fridge and FlexZone simultaneously until the display blinks (about 6 seconds). While the display is still blinking, touch Door Alarm.

Hold < and > for 6 seconds and then press O.

To exit Cooling Off mode, press and hold Temp., Power Freeze, and Lock simultaneously for 5 seconds. A chime will sound when it turns off.

Press and hold Lock for 3 seconds to unlock the main panel. Then, press and hold Ferment, Preserve, and Lock simultaneously for 5 seconds.
