Level your refrigerator

Caution
  • When installed, the refrigerator must be leveled on a flat, solid floor. Not leveling the refrigerator can cause damage to the refrigerator or physical injury.
  • Leveling must be performed with the refrigerator empty. Make sure no food items are inside the refrigerator.
  • For safety reasons, adjust the front a little higher than the rear.

Necessary tools:

  • A carpenter's level
  • A flat-head screwdriver
  • A Phillips screwdriver (to remove a front leg cover, if necessary)

Leveling steps

  1. Locate the leveling legs, which are underneath the front of the fridge. There are two leveling legs for leveling and holding the fridge in place.
  2. To adjust the height of the left side, insert a flat-head screwdriver into the leveler (or notch) of the front leg on the left side. Turn the leveler clockwise to raise and counterclockwise to lower.Adjusting the refrigerator leveling legs with a screwdriver
  3. To adjust the height of the right side, insert a flat-head screwdriver into the leveler (or notch) of the front leg on the right side. Turn the leveler clockwise to raise and counterclockwise to lower.
  4. Using a carpenter's level, make sure the fridge is level from left to right and front to back. Make sure to check the level of the main unit and not the doors.
  5. If the fridge is not level, determine which side is higher, and on that side, adjust the leveling leg and check it again. Continue to make adjustments until the fridge is level.

Adjusting the rear height (applicable models only)

If you need to raise the rear side of the refrigerator to level it, you can use the provided level adjustment pad(s). This may be needed if you have a refrigerator with Auto Open Door. Follow these instructions to raise the rear side of the refrigerator:

  1. Choose the position on the floor where you need to attach the level adjustment pad.

  2. Peel the double-sided tape on the bottom of the level adjustment pad.
  3. Attach the level adjustment pad to the floor.
  4. If you need to further raise the rear height, attach another adjustment pad
Note: You may skip this step if you can level the refrigerator using a single attachment pad.
Make sure the ribs on the first adjustment pad are inserted into the grooves of the second level adjustment pad.
